Homemade Nut & Seed Butter

Making homemade nut or seed butter is an incredibly easy pantry staple to whip up yourself.

All you need is a decent food processor or a Vita Mix or other high powered blender and some sprouted organic almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios, pumpkin or sunflower seeds.

Just 2-3 ingredients and you have a new way to keep your healthy fat intake up! 1 Lb will make a generous 3 cups of butter and will likely become your new favourite snack or spread for Pumpkin U Bake Bread.

Some nuts have more natural oils than others, which affects how easy they are to churn into butter.

Pecans, cashews and walnuts and have more natural oils (fatty acids) so they turn into nut butter quite easily. Almonds, pistachios, pumpkin and sunflower have a bit less oil. Nothing a little avocado oil can’t solve.
